Policy 22.0

Collektr's Choice - Listing Promotion Policy

1. Purpose and Scope

This policy governs the purchase, use, and administration of Collektr’s Choice, a paid listing promotion feature that allows sellers to boost the visibility of eligible marketplace listings for a fixed duration and fee.

By purchasing a Collektr’s Choice boost, the seller agrees to be bound by this policy in full, in addition to Collektr’s general Marketplace Terms of Service and Seller Agreement. Where this policy conflicts with the general Terms of Service, this policy governs for matters specific to Collektr’s Choice.

Collektr reserves the right to amend this policy at any time, with changes effective upon posting. Continued use of Collektr’s Choice after a policy update constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.

1A. Nature of a Boost Purchase and Visibility Disclaimer

1A.1. A Collektr’s Choice boost purchases additional promotional placement opportunities within designated areas of the Collektr platform. It does not purchase a fixed ranking, fixed audience, guaranteed impressions, guaranteed engagement, or guaranteed sales.

1A.2. Collektr does not guarantee any minimum number of impressions, clicks, views, offers, enquiries, favourites, or other engagement metrics. Actual exposure depends on buyer activity, category demand, platform traffic, search behaviour, competing listings, and other factors beyond Collektr’s control.

2. Eligibility Requirements

2.1. To be eligible for a Collektr’s Choice boost, a listing must, at the time of purchase and for the duration of the boost:

a. Be an active, published listing in good standing on the Collektr marketplace;

b. Comply fully with Collektr’s Marketplace Listing Policy, Prohibited Items Policy, and all applicable Seller Terms;

c. Not be under investigation, flagged, restricted, or subject to a pending policy violation review;

d. Not be a Reserve Price auction (see Section 11); and

e. Belong to a seller account that is active, verified, and not suspended or under sanction.

2.2. Collektr reserves the right to determine, at its sole discretion, whether a listing meets eligibility requirements, and may decline or revoke eligibility at any time without liability to the seller.

2.3. Meeting eligibility requirements does not guarantee slot availability. Boost purchases are subject to Section 3 (Slot Availability).

3. Slot Availability and Limits

3.1. Collektr’s Choice operates on a limited, slot-based inventory system. The following limits apply and are configurable by Collektr at its sole discretion, with changes effective immediately upon update:

  • A maximum number of active Collektr’s Choice slots system-wide (currently 25);
  • A maximum of three (3) simultaneously boosted listings per seller; and
  • A maximum of one (1) Premium Slot add-on active per seller at any time, applicable to only one of that seller’s boosted listings.

3.2. Slots are allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. If no slots are available at the time of purchase attempt, the seller will be unable to complete the purchase and will not be charged.

3.3. Collektr does not guarantee the continued availability of any slot configuration, pricing tier, or feature limit, and may modify these at any time. Changes will not retroactively affect boosts already active and paid for.

4. Boost Duration, Activation, and Countdown

4.1. Sellers may select one of the following boost durations at the time of purchase:

TierDurationPrice
Standard24 hoursRM10
Standard2 daysRM15
Standard3 daysRM20
Add-onPremium Slot (higher placement)RM35

4.2. The boost countdown begins immediately upon successful payment confirmation, not upon seller selection or checkout initiation. The listing becomes visible in the Collektr’s Choice section as soon as activation is processed, which the seller acknowledges may involve a brief system processing delay.

4.3. Upon expiry of the purchased duration, the listing automatically and immediately reverts to its normal, non-boosted position in the marketplace. No further action is required from the seller, and no notice of expiry is guaranteed to be provided, though Collektr may choose to notify sellers as a courtesy.

4.4. Boost durations are fixed at purchase and cannot be paused, extended, or transferred to another listing, except where Collektr, at its sole discretion, elects to do so (e.g., to remedy a verified technical fault).

5. Premium Slot Placement

5.1. The Premium Slot add-on provides a boosted listing with higher relative placement within the Collektr’s Choice section, as determined by Collektr’s internal placement logic, which may consider factors such as purchase time, boost tier, category, and platform algorithms.

5.2. Premium Slot placement is relative and not absolute. Collektr does not guarantee a specific rank, position, or level of visibility, and placement may shift due to other sellers’ Premium Slot purchases, expirations, or platform changes.

5.3. Purchasing a Premium Slot, or any Collektr’s Choice boost, does not guarantee increased views, engagement, offers, or a sale. Collektr’s Choice is a visibility tool only. Sellers acknowledge that outcomes depend on factors outside Collektr’s control, including buyer demand, listing quality, pricing, and market conditions.

5.4. Only one Premium Slot may be active per seller at any time, applied to one of that seller’s boosted listings, in line with Section 3.1(c).

5.5. Premium Slot placement and Collektr’s Choice visibility are determined using proprietary systems and algorithms. Collektr reserves the right to modify such systems at any time to improve marketplace performance, fairness, user experience, fraud prevention, or operational efficiency. Collektr is not required to disclose the methodology, weighting, or ranking criteria used by these systems.

6. Listing Sold Before Boost Expires

6.1. If a boosted listing is sold prior to the end of its purchased boost duration, the boost is considered fully consumed and non-refundable, regardless of the amount of boost duration remaining.

6.2. No partial refund, credit, or transfer of unused boost time will be issued in this circumstance. The successful sale is deemed the fulfilment of the promotional purpose of the boost.

6.3. Sellers are encouraged, but not obligated, to remove or mark a listing as sold promptly to maintain marketplace accuracy; Collektr’s Choice placement does not affect this obligation, which is governed by the general Seller Agreement.

7. Seller Edits, Pauses, or Deletion During an Active Boost

7.1. Editing: A seller may edit non-material details of a boosted listing (e.g., description clarifications, additional photos) provided the edits do not materially alter the listing’s category, condition, price, or eligibility status. Material edits may trigger a re-eligibility review, and Collektr reserves the right to suspend the boost pending that review.

7.2. Boost Cannot Be Paused or Stopped: Once purchased, a Collektr’s Choice boost begins immediately and runs continuously for the full purchased duration. Sellers have no option to pause, interrupt, or stop an active boost.

For auction-format listings, the boost timer starts at the moment of purchase, not at the auction’s scheduled start time. If the auction is set to begin later, the listing will still appear in the Collektr’s Choice section immediately even before bidding opens and that visibility window counts against the purchased duration.

If a seller separately deactivates or hides the underlying listing while a boost is active (where the platform allows this), the boost continues running in the background regardless. No refund, credit, or extension is issued for any resulting loss of visibility.

7.3. Deletion: Sellers are not prevented from deleting a listing while its Collektr’s Choice boost is active. Doing so immediately and permanently forfeits the boost no refund, credit, or transfer will be issued under any circumstances arising from a voluntary seller deletion. Where technically supported, the platform will display a confirmation prompt before deletion is finalized, warning the seller that an active Collektr’s Choice boost will be forfeited if they proceed. This prompt is a courtesy notice and its absence does not waive forfeiture.

7.4. Sellers are solely responsible for the consequences of edits or deletions made to a boosted listing, and acknowledge that such actions do not entitle them to any compensation from Collektr. Collektr’s Choice has no pause or hold function once purchased, the boost runs continuously and cannot be stopped, interrupted, or resumed by the seller.

8. Payment and Refund Policy

8.1. All Collektr’s Choice purchases are final and non-refundable, except as expressly stated in this policy or where required by applicable law.

8.2. Non-refundable circumstances include, without limitation:

  • Change of mind after payment;
  • Voluntary pause or deletion of the listing (Section 7);
  • Early sale of the listing (Section 6);
  • Dissatisfaction with placement, visibility, or sales outcome;
  • Failure to achieve any expected increase in views, offers, or sales.

8.3. Refund-eligible circumstances, at Collektr’s sole discretion and subject to verification, may include:

  • A verified platform or payment system technical failure that prevented the boost from activating after successful payment;
  • Collektr’s removal or suspension of the listing for reasons not attributable to the seller’s conduct (see Section 9); or
  • Erroneous double-charging or system billing errors.

8.4. Refund requests must be submitted through Collektr’s official support channels ([email protected]) within two (2) days of the issue arising. Collektr will assess claims in good faith but retain sole discretion over the outcome.

8.5. Where a refund is approved, it will be issued to the original payment method or as store credit, at Collektr’s discretion, within a reasonable processing period.

9. Policy Violations During an Active Boost

9.1. If a boosted listing is found, at any time, to violate Collektr’s Marketplace Listing Policy, Prohibited Items Policy, Seller Agreement, or applicable law, Collektr reserves the right to immediately:

  • Remove the listing from Collektr’s Choice;
  • Suspend or delist the listing entirely;
  • Suspend or terminate the seller’s account, in line with standard enforcement procedures; and/or
  • Withhold or deny any refund of the boost fee.

9.2. No refund will be issued where removal or suspension results from the seller’s own violation of marketplace policy, regardless of remaining boost duration.

9.3. Collektr is not obligated to provide advance notice before taking enforcement action under this section where it determines that immediate action is necessary to protect the marketplace, buyers, or Collektr’s interests.

10. Collektr’s Right to Remove or Suspend a Boosted Listing

10.1. In addition to policy-violation removals under Section 9, Collektr reserves the right to remove, suspend, or decline to activate a Collektr’s Choice boost for any listing at its sole discretion, including but not limited to situations involving:

  • Suspected fraudulent, misleading, or manipulative activity;
  • System, technical, or operational necessity;
  • Legal, regulatory, or compliance requirements;
  • Disputes, chargebacks, or payment irregularities on the seller’s account; or
  • Any other reason Collektr reasonably believes is necessary to protect the integrity of the marketplace.

10.2. Where such removal or suspension is not attributable to seller misconduct, Collektr may, at its discretion, offer a partial or full refund or credit under Section 8.3(b). Where it is attributable to seller misconduct, Section 9.2 applies and no refund will be issued.

10.3. Collektr’s exercise of, or failure to exercise, this right in any instance does not create an obligation to act the same way in future instances, nor does it create precedent binding on Collektr.

11. Reserve Price Auctions Ineligibility and Exception

11.1. Listings structured as Reserve Price auctions are not eligible for a seller-purchased Collektr’s Choice boost, whether standard or Premium Slot, under any circumstances. This restriction exists to preserve fairness across the marketplace and to avoid providing additional paid exposure to auctions that have not yet met their reserve price.

11.2. This restriction applies for the entire duration that the Reserve Price condition remains active on the listing. If a seller removes the Reserve Price from an auction, the listing may become eligible for boost purchase, subject to all other eligibility requirements in Section 2.

11.3. Administrative Exception: Notwithstanding Section 11.1, Collektr’s Super Admin or Operations team may manually pin, feature, or otherwise promote a Reserve Price auction through internal dashboard tools, at Collektr’s sole discretion, for purposes including but not limited to internal campaigns, promotions, editorial curation, or other business objectives.

11.4. This administrative exception is strictly an internal operational action and is not, and will never be made available as, a paid purchase option for sellers. Sellers may not request, purchase, or negotiate this treatment, and Collektr is under no obligation to apply it consistently or to disclose the criteria for its use.

12. Manual Featuring by Collektr (General)

12.1. Separately from seller-purchased boosts, Collektr reserves the right, at its sole and absolute discretion, to manually feature, pin, or otherwise promote any listing or auction on the marketplace including Reserve Price auctions for promotional, editorial, operational, or business purposes.

12.2. Manual featuring by Collektr:

  • Does not constitute or imply any endorsement, warranty, or guarantee regarding the listing, the item, or the seller;
  • Does not guarantee a sale or any particular outcome; and
  • Does not create an entitlement, precedent, or expectation that any other seller or listing will receive the same or similar treatment.

12.3. Sellers acknowledge that manual featuring decisions are made independently of the Collektr’s Choice paid feature and are not subject to the eligibility, refund, or slot-limit provisions of this policy.

12A. Fraud Protection

12A.1. Collektr may filter, disregard, or otherwise exclude suspicious, automated, fraudulent, or invalid activity when determining platform analytics or internal placement.

13. Seller Responsibilities

13.1. Sellers are solely responsible for:

a. Ensuring all boosted listings are accurate, complete, and compliant with Collektr’s policies and applicable law at all times during the boost period;

b. Promptly updating or removing listings that become inaccurate, out of stock, or non-compliant;

c. Monitoring their own boosted listings and Collektr’s Choice slot usage; and

d. Understanding and accepting the non-refundable nature of boost purchases as described in Section 8.

13.2. Collektr bears no responsibility for losses, missed opportunities, or damages arising from a seller’s failure to meet these responsibilities.

13A. Abuse of Promotion and Platform Manipulation

13A.1. Sellers must not use Collektr’s Choice in any manner intended to manipulate, exploit, or unfairly influence the operation of the marketplace or the visibility of listings.

Prohibited conduct includes, but is not limited to:

  • creating duplicate or substantially similar listings for the same item to obtain additional promotional exposure;
  • repeatedly deleting and recreating listings to obtain an unfair promotional advantage or reset marketplace ranking;
  • purchasing boosts using fraudulent, stolen, unauthorised, or disputed payment methods;
  • engaging in coordinated or automated activity intended to manipulate listing visibility, popularity, engagement, or marketplace algorithms;
  • artificially inflating views, favourites, enquiries, bids, offers, or other engagement metrics through bots, scripts, fake accounts, click farms, or coordinated activity;
  • attempting to interfere with, reverse engineer, circumvent, or exploit the operation of Collektr’s Choice, slot allocation, Premium Slot placement, recommendation systems, or marketplace algorithms; or
  • engaging in any other conduct that Collektr reasonably determines undermines the fairness, integrity, security, or intended operation of the marketplace.

13A.2. Where Collektr reasonably suspects abuse, manipulation, fraud, or other prohibited conduct, it may immediately and without prior notice:

  • remove or suspend the affected boost;
  • remove or suspend the underlying listing;
  • revoke Premium Slot placement;
  • refuse future Collektr’s Choice purchases;
  • suspend or terminate the seller’s account in accordance with Collektr’s Marketplace Terms; and/or
  • Withhold any refund, credit, or compensation relating to the affected boost.

13A.3. Collektr’s determination of abusive or manipulative conduct shall be made acting reasonably based on available information, including automated detection systems, transaction records, platform analytics, and manual review.

13A.4. Actions taken under this Section are intended to preserve the integrity, fairness, and security of the Collektr marketplace and do not create any obligation for Collektr to disclose its detection methods, algorithms, internal thresholds, or enforcement criteria.

14. System and Technical Downtime

14.1. Collektr will use reasonable efforts to maintain the availability and proper functioning of the Collektr’s Choice feature but does not guarantee uninterrupted, error-free operation.

14.2. In the event of system downtime, outages, or technical faults affecting an active boost’s visibility or placement:

  • Collektr may, at its discretion, extend the affected boost duration, issue a partial credit, or take other remedial action proportionate to the verified impact;
  • Sellers must report suspected downtime-related issues through official support channels within seven (7) days for consideration; and
  • Collektr is not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential losses (including lost sales or lost profits) arising from such downtime.

14.3. Scheduled maintenance will, where reasonably practicable, be communicated in advance, though Collektr is not obligated to delay urgent maintenance or security fixes to accommodate active boosts.

14A. Force Majeure

14A.1. Collektr shall not be liable for any delay, interruption, suspension, reduction in visibility, or failure to perform any obligation relating to Collektr’s Choice where such delay or failure results from events or circumstances beyond Collektr’s reasonable control, including but not limited to:

  • natural disasters, floods, fires, earthquakes, pandemics, epidemics, or other acts of God;
  • war, terrorism, civil unrest, riots, embargoes, sanctions, or governmental actions;
  • power outages, telecommunications failures, internet disruptions, cyberattacks, distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks, hacking incidents, or other security events;
  • failures, outages, delays, or disruptions affecting third-party infrastructure or service providers, including cloud hosting providers, payment processors, internet service providers, content delivery networks (CDNs), domain registrars, search providers, analytics providers, or software vendors;
  • labour disputes, industrial actions, shortages of labour, materials, or utilities; or
  • any other event beyond Collektr’s reasonable control that materially affects the operation of the platform.

14A.2. During the occurrence of a Force Majeure event, Collektr may suspend, delay, modify, restrict, or temporarily discontinue the Collektr’s Choice feature or any part of its operation without incurring liability.

14A.3. Where reasonably practicable, Collektr may, at its sole discretion, extend an affected boost, issue promotional credit, or provide another reasonable remedy. Nothing in this Section obliges Collektr to provide compensation, refunds, extensions, or credits arising solely from a Force Majeure event.

14A.4. Collektr will use commercially reasonable efforts to restore normal operation of the feature as soon as reasonably practicable following the cessation of the Force Majeure event.

15. Limitation of Liability

15.1. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Collektr’s total liability arising out of or relating to the Collektr’s Choice feature shall not exceed the total amount paid by the seller for the specific boost giving rise to the claim.

15.2. Collektr is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of sales, loss of profits, or loss of business opportunity, arising from the use of, or inability to use, Collektr’s Choice.

15.3. Nothing in this policy excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.

16. Dispute Resolution

16.1. Any dispute arising from this policy should first be raised through Collektr’s official seller support channel for informal resolution.

16.2. If unresolved, disputes will be handled in accordance with the dispute resolution provisions of Collektr’s general Marketplace Terms of Service and Seller Agreement.

17. Policy Amendments

17.1. Collektr reserves the right to amend, update, or replace this policy, including pricing, slot limits, durations, and eligibility criteria, at any time and at its sole discretion.

17.2. Material changes will be communicated to sellers through reasonable means (e.g., dashboard notice, email, or platform announcement) prior to or upon taking effect. Non-material or administrative changes (e.g., configurable slot limits) may take effect immediately without prior notice.

17.3. Continued use of the Collektr’s Choice feature after any amendment constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

18. Acknowledgment

By initiating a Collektr’s Choice purchase, the seller confirms that they have read, understood, and agree to be bound by this policy in full, including its non-refundable payment terms, eligibility restrictions, and limitations of liability.
