Reserve Price

Reserve Prices on Collektr Auctions

A Reserve Price is the minimum price a seller is willing to accept for an item listed for auction on Collektr. The Reserve Price is determined before the auction begins and remains confidential throughout the auction process.

Reserve Prices help protect sellers from underselling valuable collectibles while maintaining a fair, transparent, and competitive bidding experience for buyers.

Reserve Price auctions are not available as a self-service feature. Sellers wishing to list an item with a Reserve Price must submit a request by contacting [email protected] prior to creating the auction. Each request is subject to Collektr’s review and approval to ensure commercially reasonable reserve pricing, successful auction outcomes, buyer confidence, and overall marketplace integrity.

What Is a Reserve Price?

When approved by Collektr, a seller may list an auction with a Reserve Price, being the minimum amount required for the item to be successfully sold.

The Reserve Price is not publicly displayed to bidders. Bidding may begin below the Reserve Price, depending on the seller’s chosen starting bid and auction format.

Once bidding reaches or exceeds the Reserve Price, the auction status will display “Reserve Met”, and the item becomes eligible to be sold to the highest valid bidder upon the successful completion of the auction.

To provide greater transparency throughout the auction process, Collektr may display reserve-related indicators, including whether the Reserve Price has been met or whether the auction is approaching the Reserve Price. Such indicators are provided for informational purposes only, do not disclose the actual Reserve Price, and do not guarantee that the Reserve Price will be achieved.

”Reserve Met” & “Reserve Not Met”

Reserve Met

When bidding reaches or exceeds the seller’s Reserve Price, the auction status will display “Reserve Met.”

Once an auction has achieved Reserve Met, the highest valid bidder at the close of the auction will be entitled to purchase the item, subject to successful payment and compliance with Collektr’s Terms & Conditions.

Reserve Not Met

If bidding remains below the Reserve Price when the auction ends, the item will not be automatically sold.

Where applicable, Collektr’s Auto Bid functionality may automatically place bids on a buyer’s behalf, including increasing the current bid up to the Reserve Price where the buyer’s Maximum Bid Amount is sufficient to satisfy the Reserve Price.

If the Reserve Price is still not met at the close of the auction:

  • the seller may choose to relist the item;
  • the seller may negotiate with interested bidders after the auction, where applicable; or
  • Collektr may facilitate post-auction discussions between the seller and interested bidders.

While the Reserve Price itself remains confidential, bidders may be shown the auction’s reserve status throughout the auction.

No Reserve Auctions

Some auctions on Collektr may be designated as “No Reserve.”

A No Reserve auction means:

  • there is no minimum selling price;
  • the item will be sold to the highest valid bidder once at least one valid bid has been placed;
  • every valid bid has the opportunity to win the item; and
  • eligible listings may be identified with a “No Reserve” label.

No Reserve auctions provide buyers with an equal opportunity to purchase an item and often encourage greater bidding participation.

Reserve Price Approval & Auction Integrity

Reserve Price auctions are offered on a case-by-case basis and require Collektr’s prior approval. Sellers wishing to utilise a Reserve Price must submit a request by contacting [email protected] before creating the auction.

In assessing a Reserve Price request, Collektr may consider factors including:

  • recent comparable sales;
  • prevailing market value;
  • item rarity;
  • item condition;
  • buyer demand and market liquidity; and
  • the overall integrity and health of the marketplace.

This approval process helps ensure Reserve Prices remain commercially reasonable, promote genuine bidding activity, improve successful auction outcomes, protect buyer confidence, and maintain a fair marketplace for all participants.

Collektr reserves the right to:

  • approve or decline any Reserve Price request;
  • recommend or require adjustments to a proposed Reserve Price before approving an auction;
  • reject Reserve Prices that are inconsistent with prevailing market conditions or are likely to adversely affect auction performance or buyer confidence;
  • introduce or modify reserve-related auction features, bidding indicators, Auto Bid functionality, or other tools designed to improve auction transparency, buyer experience, and successful auction outcomes, provided such features do not disclose the confidential Reserve Price;
  • remove, suspend, reject, or cancel listings that may negatively impact marketplace integrity or buyer confidence; and
  • investigate and take appropriate action against fraudulent activity, bid manipulation, artificial bidding, or any conduct that undermines the integrity of the auction process.

Transparency & Community Trust

Collektr is committed to maintaining a trusted, transparent, and community-driven auction marketplace.

Reserve Prices provide sellers with confidence when listing valuable collectibles, while reserve status indicators help buyers better understand an auction’s progress without revealing the confidential Reserve Price.

Our goal is to deliver a fair, competitive, and trusted marketplace experience for collectors, enthusiasts, buyers, and sellers across every category on Collektr.
